My background is in marketing, advertising, film and video, photography, computer geek, process control and reliability engineering. I’ve produced network TV shows and was a NASCAR photographer. Until 5 years ago I’d never done any wood work.
But then 2020 happened, which shut down my work in Reliability. So I decided to turn my hobby into a full-time gig doing custom woodwork.
My first projects were as a hobbyist: shelving and library carts to accommodate my wife’s 1300-ish book collection. Additional tools, machines and appropriation of our carport and patio followed as I took on larger projects from customers.
I now say that I make custom furniture and home decor. My wife says I make noise, sawdust and wood chips. She’s put up with me for 40 years…a lot longer than I would put up with me.
I have six measuring tapes and a dozen mechanical pencils in a 200 square foot space and have trouble finding just one of each.
I’m Chief to two daughters, two sons-in-law and five grandkids - all of whom I not only love but also like.
